MVNC offers several cohort-style training intensives each year. These are typically multi-session, in-person workshops that cover a specific topic or help nonprofit teams work on a specific project. These cohorts often have limited registration, a small fee, and require multiple board and staff member participation. The goal of these intensives is for organizations to have time to work collaboratively within their team and within the cohort of nonprofits to address topics and projects that will move their organizations forward.
Strategic PlanningLED by: Patricia floyd, consultantThis multi-session program will provide experiential learning of strategic planning as you and your colleagues develop and refine your organization’s strategic plan. Throughout the four, in person, half-day sessions, nonprofit leaders will strengthen their understanding of strategic planning and how it applies to their individual organization. Each participating team will leave the workshop series with a robust, implementable strategic plan and the ability and confidence to repeat this process moving forward.

Each year MVNC partners with Tufts University to bring the Institute for Nonprofit Practice to island nonprofit leaders. This program is designed for current executive nonprofit leaders and emerging nonprofit leaders. The 7-month program differs from other professional development courses, with its emphasis placed equally on leadership, self-awareness, and personal growth.
